Circus Act

The topic of the last ponderings was running away to join the circus (or whatever it may be for you). Well this got TPP back to pondering on all of the different acts within a circus:

  • Magic acts
  • Acrobatics and trapeze
  • Fire breathing
  • Clowns
  • Knife throwing
  • Elephants, horses, tigers, lions, chimpanzees and other animals
  • Juggling and knife throwing
  • Bike tricks

Just to name a few. A great place to check out a more comprehensive list is the The History of Circus.

While some of the acts in the original circus’s no longer exist, most have stood the test of time and are still performed today, albeit in an updated or modern format that may not look like the act of yesteryear. An good example of the change in an act over time would be the magic tricks performed. The original acts were mainly simple slight of hand tricks, whereas today they more complex and take advantage of modern technology along with elaborate stages. But at the end of the day a good magic trick is an awesome feat no matter how it is done.

Your homework today is to ponder on the different circus acts – which would you want to be able to do or can picture yourself doing. Why that act?

Ponder away!
