When To Ponder

When to ponder

This is one of those “how long is a piece of string” sort of questions.

The short answer is who cares as long as you do it.

The long answer is any time is a good time to ponder but there are times and places that are better than others. For instance when you are sitting waiting on a friend to join you for coffee or walking to work are goods time to ponder. On the other hand when something needs your full attention, such as driving or operating a machine, is not a good time to ponder.

Like all good things, the most important part is that you actually spend some time pondering on a regular basis. By doing a little bit regularly you will start to free your mind and open it to so many possibilities that you would never imagined.

Start small. For example as you walk to your letterbox look at the sky and ponder on what colour it is today, or as you when you are in the shower ponder on the way the water is coming out of the showerhead. In each case you have a short limited time – well that is unless you have a long driveway or take really long showers!

Now you know the answer to when, your homework for the day is to spend a minute or two to ponder on your daily habits and figure out when would be a good time to slot in a little bit pondering every day.

Ponder away!
