Today TPP was talking with someone who was in a different country. This person was stuck inside because it was an overcast, rainy, chilly day. But TPP was enjoying a beautiful, cloudless, hot, sunny day. There was huge contrast in temperatures and weather conditions between the two countries.
For TPP, who had not long come inside all hot and sweaty, it was easy to “technically” picture what the day was like in the other country, but it was hard to actually understand what it would be like to feel to be cold.
The mind has an amazing ability to only focus on the current conditions and not be able to imagine anything else, be it the current weather conditions or when stuck in the middle of a complex problem.
Your homework for today is to ponder on what the weather is like where you are and try to get the feeling of what it would be like in the opposite conditions. For example, if it snowing where you are, ponder on what it would be like to be lying on a hot sunny beach or vica versa.
Ponder away!
