Cold Feet

While sitting working today TPP had really cold feet. At one stage this resulted in a number of activities to warm them back up – some of which probably appeared pretty silly to someone who might just be looking in the window.

After warming them and sitting back down to carry on working, TPP started to ponder on the whole phenomenon of cold feet. Like most people, when pondering on something that is health related, there were many rabbit holes to look down – ranging from nothing serious to full blown, almost life threatening disorders.

So what is one to do when this happens – well do some research online of course… this will allay any worries or fears. Alas, more rabbit holes appeared.

Way to much time was wasted with looking at the many possibilities, many bad, before TPP decided… you know what, sometimes cold feet are just that… cold feet!

Once TPP had walked back from that cliff and calmed back down, the thought came – how many times do we do this to ourselves? You know, full on worry over something that is nothing at all. We get it in our heads it is serious, then go looking for “facts” to match our fears, only making things worse.

When this happens you need to stop, step back, take a deep breath and turn your mind to something good and positive. Because, like TPP today where cold feet are just cold feet, your “thing” is most likely something totally innocent. If you are still not convinced that it is something innocent then get a professional to look at it rather than looking further and worrying more.

Your homework today is to ponder on a time you have stared down one of “those” false rabbit holes, where it took you and how destructive the whole process was. Ponder on how differently would you have handled the whole situation if you knew then what know now – the whole thing was just the cold feet equivalent. Tuck this away so when you find your next rabbit hole remember cold feet are just that, cold feet!

Ponder away!
