Umbrella with a cloud that has eyes and mouth as the top if it and is raining

Rain, Rain, Go Away

The last pondering explored the idea of taking the time to appreciate your surroundings and to find something that is “good or positive” in them.

Well, today TPP woke of to a grey, wet day and had to spend a few minutes taking self advice – try to find something to appreciate in the miserable day, instead of feeling flat and just wishing the rain away. You would think that as this is something that TPP does on a regular basis it would be a super simple thing to do, but no this morning it still took a good few minutes. The mood, the mind and the environment were all against feeling appreciative.

Finally, after looking out the window at the rain TPP’s eyes spotted a newly opened flower which had only been a bud the day before. Don’t know if it was the rejuvenation effect from the rain or the flower was going to open today anyway. But either way, it was a tiny piece of bright goodness in a dull grey day. The perfect thing to be thankful for and to smile about!

The motto of this is that we all have days where we wake up feeling blah – it does not how famous, successful, wealthy or just plain ordinary we are, we all have these sort of days. But when this happens it is even more important to spend a few minutes to find that one, small thing that will brighten your day and put a smile of your face. This will get you in a better frame of mind to face all that the world will throw at you during the day.

Your homework for today is to, again, spend a minute now to have a look around you. Find that one small thing which is bright and cheerful. Ponder on the goodness of it and allow that goodness to give you a wee smile.

Ponder away!
