Today’s ponderings is an extension of the last topic which was about coffee.
Maybe this is showing TPP’s age but here we go anyway – many years ago the only choice when it came to coffee was “do you want milk or sugar with your instant coffee”. That was it, well except occasionally when you went somewhere “posh”, they had drip coffee, which was an absolute treat!
My how have things changed since those days. Now can you have your coffee a hundred and one different ways. Yeah, a hundred and one may be a wee exaggeration but when all you want is just a plain old coffee it feels like there are that many choices.
Not only can you choose between a short black, long white, espresso, cappuccino, latte, americano, macchiato, mocha, cafe au lait, etc, etc… but you also have a choice of coffee bean type. Then within the bean you can also have single source or multiple source beans.
But wait, there is more… you can add the choice of hot or cold brewed coffee. Gosh, maybe one hundred and one choices wasn’t an exaggeration!
Now, TPP understands that some of you are total coffee connoisseurs who can explain how every different style of coffee is made, as well as taste the difference in the beans or how it was brewed – an amazing skill which TPP is jealous of.
Where you fall on the coffee connoisseur scale is not important as everyone is different, not good or bad just different. It is those differences that makes the world fun… imagine if everyone was exactly like TPP, what a boring world it would be.
So your homework today is ponder where on the coffee connoisseur scale where do you land – a real pro or, like TPP, a total amateur? What about your friends, where do they sit?
